One app · one address · one town at a time

Ask the town, not the internet.

nnest gives a community one address that actually answers — what's on, what's here, where to stay, who to ask — and puts every listing in the region on a map the towns share.

What's on the map

Everything is discoverable. Walks. Food. Events. Everything.

Search it by name, filter by category, or use near-me — the café, the workshop, the Saturday market and the falls come back together, in one list beside one map.

  • Experiencesworkshops, tours, immersion days
  • Spaceshalls, cabins, cafés, farms, studios
  • Eventsmarkets, meetings, whole seasons
  • Points of interestthe falls, the walks, the trestle bridge

Our vision is our commitment to you

I

Discovery is not for sale

Placement is labelled, relevance-gated and bounded. It never buys legitimacy and never distorts the results underneath.

II

Free stays free

Free events carry no fee. Community organisations sit near cost recovery, with commercial listings carrying the margin.

III

Accuracy is a constraint

A wrong listing does more damage than an absent one. Every new surface is a standing commitment that someone keeps it true.

IV

A volunteer can run it unaided

Not a designer, not a developer, not the operator on call. If it only works when we drive it, it isn't finished.

Town portals

Your town's own voice, for visitors and your community

Stewards decide what's featured, what the town says about itself and what's worth knowing. Pages are assembled from blocks — hero, rich text, link cards, news, featured places, galleries, map points — in any order, with any field left blank.

Yours, and it stays yours

Content, identity, search equity and subscriber relationships accrue to the community — including if the town later moves to its own domain.

Empty never happens

Listings arrive by geography, so curation is emphasis on a portal that already works — not the labour that makes it exist.

Runnable by a volunteer

A hall-committee volunteer with ordinary confidence and limited time. That test decides when a feature is finished.

A map that almost populates itself

A listing inside the town's area appears in that town's portal on its own — nobody re-enters it, and nobody has to sign it up. Stewards then choose what to feature on top of a map that already holds what's there.

For hosts & organisers

One listing that does the work of a website

A hall committee secretary. A facilitator running one workshop a season. A farmer with a cabin. Say everything you need to say, present it well and sell it — with your identity carrying across every listing instead of being retyped into each new one.

  • Free events, no fee
  • Community pricing near cost
  • Identity that accrues
  • Collections across hosts

Who it serves

Many roles, one destination

Four groups use nnest directly. Councils, tourism boards and chambers of commerce come at it differently — one platform across a shire rather than a website per town, with each community keeping its own voice and its own data.

Visitors

What's on, what's here, what you can do — with the walks and the falls beside the bookable things.

Town residents

Your own group’s meeting, your neighbour’s workshop, the fire session. Somewhere your life appears.

Hosts & organisers

Commercial operators, community groups and one-workshop-a-season practitioners, in equal measure.

Community stewards

Volunteers curating the layer above the marketplace — the portal, the news, the town’s voice.

Towns already running

Your town can have its own look and feel — the same components underneath, styled to the place.

Built by a town of 200, for towns like it.

nnest started because Noojee needed it — a volunteer committee with no budget, no developer on staff and a town whose information lived in four places at once. Everything here had to survive that, which is why it's shaped the way it is.

Owned by an incorporated association

NNEST (Noojee) Inc holds the platform. Revenue lands with the association and delivery costs are charged back at arm's length.

No investors to answer to

Nothing here needs to grow at someone else's pace, which is why discovery can stay unsellable and free events can stay free.

Tested on our own committee first

Every feature has to be usable by a hall-committee volunteer with limited time. If it only works when we drive it, it isn't finished.

Built to outlast whoever runs it

Community infrastructure that depends on one person isn't infrastructure. The association can keep it running through a change of operator or committee.
